Place Design Group, Proudly Supporting the Steve Waugh Foundation

Recently, Place Design Group’s Sunshine Coast Senior Associate, Dennis Hicks, attended the grand opening of the Steve Waugh Foundation’s ‘Renee 4’ house in Coomera, Queensland.

‘Renee 4’ is the fourth home in the ‘Renee Series’ which honours a unique young lady with an inspiring story of courage, Renee Eliades.

Renee lives with a very rare disease which affects the development of bones in the body, thus she is often mistaken for a 3 year old despite being 22 years of age due to her small stature. Renee also requires 24 hour oxygen support. The Steve Waugh Foundation works to support children and young adults just like Renee, who live with rare diseases offering them somewhere to turn.

Designed, constructed and sold by iconic residential developer AV Jennings, the ‘Renee 4’ house is a showcase of modern design, comprised of three bedrooms, flexible kitchen, bathroom and living areas, a separate retreat, high ceilings, wide doorways and natural cross flow ventilation.

More than 45 suppliers worked alongside project creators AV Jennings, generously donating labour and materials to make the home a reality.

Full profits from the sale of the home will be donated to the Steve Waugh Foundation, funding their important work to raising awareness, providing individual grants, respite camps, and research for young people and children in need.

Place Design Group is proud to have contributed to this community partnership initiative via the provision of pro bono Landscape Architecture services, another proud example of demonstrating a grounded commitment to creating great places and great communities.
