Place Design Group Chairman Ian Klug was recently appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2017 Australia Day Awards.
This incredible achievement recognises Ian for his significant service to the business sector, to economic development in Queensland, to accountancy, and to the community.
Ian began his career as a Chartered Accountant with organisations such as Coopers and Lybrand and Pitcher Partners. He then decided to move into a portfolio career and has held multiple board and committee roles across a wide variety of sectors.
His current portfolio consists of Chairman, Place Design Group, a role he’s held since 2010, Chairman of Brisbane Marketing since 2006, Chairman Lord Mayor’s Economic Development Steering Committee since 2011, Chairman, Water and Carbon Group since 2014 and Non-Executive Director of the Brisbane Festival since 2014.
