The Futian Shangri-La is part of an integrated inner city urban tower and commercial building. Place Design Group were commissioned to manage the full scope of landscape architectural services which required three separate approaches to amalgamate the different zone functions. The design within the hotel is a modern interpretation of a Balinese theme to the pool deck and was brought down to the ground level in the hotel entrance, restaurant breakout spaces and garden planting. The connection to and the surround of the hotel frontage and commercial frontages retained a clean urban treatment focusing on strong paving patterns, clean planting design and custom design of light fittings and street furniture.
