The redevelopment of the old Myer Department store in Coorparoo, Brisbane represents a major urban renewal project of an entire city block and mark the revitalisation of a long derelict site. Place Design Group was retained by Honeycombes Property to manage the town planning approval process for the proposed development. The Place Design Group team worked closely with the client and consultant team to navigate the technical requirements of Council and State agencies, whilst ensuring the commerciality of the project for Honeycombes were also achieved.
Having gained the approval for the $125m, 350+ unit project in November, 2014, and for the commencement of demolition earlier this year, the Place Design Group team continues to work with the client during construction of the project, which will include 2 towers of nearly 250 units, a supermarket, 10 screen cinema and extensive retail and restaurant space.
