The Inner West Light Rail project spans many suburbs in Sydney’s inner west including Leichhardt, Petersham and Dulwich Hill. A State based project that involved many councils, the project presented a number of design and governance challenges with numerous stakeholders including a State based project manager and multiple local councils through which the light rail passed through.

Place Design Group were selected by Transport NSW to develop the public domain interface which included providing the revamped public face associated with the new light rail stations.

The end result was a public domain interface for the new Inner West Light Rail stations incorporating landscape works that included installations of public art, contemporary yet robust furniture and green spaces where there previously were none.
