“Our company has a strong focus on growing relationships across South East Asia and China both at a local level and internationally with increasing interest in Australian investment and development.  With rapid urbanisation across these markets, the Summit provides a fantastic opportunity to discuss the opportunities and challenges there are in developing successful cities. It will provide our teams with the opportunity to not only participate in the conversation but lead discussion with both industry and the wider business network set to attend”, says Place Design Group Managing Director, Shaun Munday.

Under the ‘Cities for People’ banner, Place Design Group will be hosting a presentation with keynote speaker Finn Jones, Design Director and Cameron Perkins, Design Lead, and John O’Callaghan, Director of JOC Consulting.

Set to discuss how industry can optimise cities for people in the future and make them ‘cities of choice’, the three speakers will explore the phenomenon of cities as global brands and the competition for market share and brand recognition to become a ‘city of choice’. They will further discuss the interconnected issues facing global urbanisation and the need for new problem solving and strategic design methodologies to overcome these complexities and achieve optimised urban centres.

Greg Chemello, DDG Planning and General Manager EDQ, will chair the presentation which is to be held on the second day of the Summit.  It will form part of what is set to be the largest Summit to date with an exciting speaker line-up, including keynote speakers Randi Zuckerberg and Lord Sebastian Coe, and SY Lau, Senior Executive Vice President, Tencent & President of Tencent Online Media Group.
