City of Sydney’s Gunyama Park second stage upgrade is underway.

Stage 2 will complement stage 1 in 2021 project: Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre, Green Square

The award-winning pool, recreation centre and outdoor synthetic football pitch, has created a world-class sports hub.

The project unlocks:

– 6,300m2 of additional green space in the Green Square area, featuring expansive green lawns, increasing the tree canopy over 150 new trees and native plantings

– New Avenue: George Julius Ave North – a new tree-lined road connecting Epsom Road to the future extension of Zetland Avenue.

– Public places for all – sporting amenities, green spaces, playground and gathering areas to cater for a growing Green Square community.

– A First Nations learning circle, incorporating cultural seasonal design elements

– A skate plaza in the northwest corner of the park

– New Amenities building: change facilities, accessible public amenities

– A playground catering to varying ages

– Renewed seating, picnic tables, shade canopies, barbecue facilities

– A big step forward to Sustainable Sydney 2030-2050 continuing the vision for a sustainable city to 2050.
