Place Design Group is looking for a Payroll & Accounts Manager to take ownership of our payroll, accounts, and treasury functions from our Brisbane Head Office. This is a pivotal role that goes beyond processing, you’ll help drive smarter processes, strengthen compliance, and support the continued growth of our national business.

Reporting directly to the CFO, and working within our National Operations Team, you’ll manage end-to-end payroll and all associated compliance lodgements with confidence and precision. While Brisbane-based, you’ll work closely with our broader operations team and become a trusted partner to the Leadership Team across the business. Your proactive mindset, positive energy, and commitment to efficiency will make you a natural fit within our collaborative team.

We’re searching for a true payroll and accounts expert, someone methodical, dependable, and approachable, who thrives on accuracy and accountability. You’ll bring exceptional time management, strong independent problem-solving skills, and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality and compliance.

 

 

What You’ll Do

Each day will be a little different, but here’s a taste of what you’ll get stuck into:

  • End to end payroll of up to 130 staff (Xero)
  • Compliance lodgements (BAS, PAYG, super, payroll tax, etc.)
  • End to end accounts payable
  • Accounts Receivable and debt management
  • Cash flow updating and management
  • Assisting with month end entries and analysis
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Leave reconciliations
  • Supplier management
  • Debit / Credit card management

 

 

About You

Essential skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification or QBE
  • 5 year’s exp in a similar role – demonstrated understanding and proficiency of end-to-end payroll in a medium organisation
  • Proficiency with Xero / Xero payroll / Hubdoc
  • Experience within a project or professional services based industry
  • Proficiency with Excel & other MS Office Programs
