The Sales & Vision Centre at Aura Baringa on the Sunshine Coast was designed to provide a welcoming and enjoyable space for home buyers and residents that reflects the present and future Aura community lifestyle.
Place Design Group was engaged to provide the landscape architecture design for the vision centre, cafe, including the positioning of the buildings themselves, the lush streetscapes, pop up park and the unique shipping container lookout. Place Design Group also worked closely with Urban Play on the integration and design intent of the play structure.
The 11m high bespoke treehouse playground acts as a visible landmark for both pedestrians and vehicles entering the Aura development, attracting people into the precinct. The Aura ‘City of Colour’ experience is incorporated into the detail design, with colourful trail lines guiding visitors through the display village, and vibrant modular parklets offering areas for resting and reflection as part of the display village experience. With the pop-up of nature of display villages, each element has been sustainably designed; the play structure is destined for a future district park and the furniture is able to be relocated and reconfigured for future use scenarios.
Through strong leadership and close collaboration with stakeholders, Place Design Group delivered the client’s vision of a preview into Aura’s ‘Urban Promise’; to create a unique sense of community with a rich variety of cultural, social and leisure opportunities.
