Place Design Group was engaged by Australian Unity to develop the Herston Quarter Place Strategy. This was utilised to support the positioning of the precinct as the lifestyle heart of Herston Health Precinct.

To inform the Place Strategy, the team undertook a dwell time and movement study to understand the future need and use of the precinct. This identified a series of key insights which assisted in the development of activation layers, movement pathways, and critical intervention points. The Place Strategy detailed governance frameworks, precedent review, place blueprint, precinct mix and retail characteristics, activation toolkit, and evaluation roadmap.

Australian Unity is utilising the Place Strategy to develop partnerships, retail strategies, and place curation, to strengthen Herston Quarter as an integrated health and innovation precinct.
