The Milsom Street House is a contemporary and character alteration to a post war dwelling on a small lot in Coorparoo, Brisbane.
The development exhibits a mix of contemporary and traditional character elements and encompasses a diverse palette of building materials including cladding, balustrading and brick. The design incorporates a feature timber arbour with trail planting at the front of the dwelling and a new entertainment area is provided to the rear of the dwelling which includes a covered terrace, swimming pool and raised deck. The entertainment area will be heavily landscaped to create a sub-tropical sanctuary. Additionally, the internal alterations take advantage of extensive voids and skylights which draw natural light into the home.
Place Design Group successfully facilitated the statutory planning approvals in accordance with the provisions of the Traditional Building Character (design) overlay code.
