Combining significant revegetation, new planting and protection of the foreshore, the revitalisation will deliver major economic benefit to Mooloolaba and further position the famous esplanade as a world-class destination for locals and visitors.
The Mooloolaba Foreshore Revitalisation project is a significant commitment by Council in delivering vibrant public realm to support healthy communities, with the project’s four stages delivering an increase in the suburb’s beachfront parkland by 40 per cent.
Place Design Group provided detailed design and documentation for Mooloolaba Foreshore Stages 1A & B. These stages encompassed the foreshore walk, custom seating and eating areas, open space areas and a one-of-a-kind adventure playground created especially for our Mooloolaba Foreshore.
The playground reflects Sunshine Coast’s iconic pandanus trees and incorporates a unique climbing net which 360-degree design provides for both climbing and inclusive sensory ground-level activities.
Place Design Group has a long history with the Mooloolaba Foreshore, having redesigned the location in 2008 following developments in Council’s strategic direction and vision. The success of those works was evident in the resulting increase in the park’s popularity and reputation as a landmark destination, for both locals and tourists.
