The Noosa River Foreshore is one of the most valued natural assets in Noosa Shire, extremely popular with both locals and visitors. Place Design Group was commissioned by the Noosa Shire Council to produce a Future Land Use Mater Plan for the Noosaville Foreshore inclusive of a comprehensive Community Engagement program. A four-day consultation strategy targeting a broad list of stakeholders was rolled out with a passionate and vocal community response. The highly publicised community engagement program involved pop-up events, councillor workshops and a signature Frank Chats online survey. The result was a rich, well informed analysis with strong, prevailing key themes, offering Noosa Shire Council a catalysing direction on how to respond to increasing visitation and ultimately protect the integrity of the iconic foreshore.
