Park Avenue

Created at a time when design rules changed necessitating a great deal of hard pavement to satisfy firefighting regulations, designers in Place Design Group visually ‘softened’ the firefighting area, satisfying the new code requirement while also creating usable and visually appealing spaces for residents.

The internal landscape is a combination of semi-private spaces for quiet relaxation/ gathering as well as larger open lawn areas and associated play grounds/ activity spaces. Informed planting design has also added benefits such as screening and shading and where appropriate, helped to further break down the firefighting areas. The attached commercial area is anchored by a central focal point water feature providing a strong identity to the street.
