Place Design Group was engaged by the Cumberland Council to design the Pippita Rail Trail Memorial Park. The 2.4km walking and cycling connection, from Lidcombe Train Station in the south to Sydney Olympic Park in the north, prioritises the growing and changing needs of the Cumberland community and commuters.

Once servicing State Abattoirs, Brick Works and Homebush Sales Yards, the trail will provide new outdoor spaces, separated and shared cycling and walking paths, and places for social connection and local history discovery. The design implements high quality solutions that encourage social interaction, a range of sensory experiences, sustainable environmental practices, and functionality.
