In 2018 the City of Gold Coast engaged Place Design Group to update the Pizzey Park Master Plan. A comprehensive consultation process, run by our team, consisted of council, user group stakeholders and the community to help steer the design process.

Place Design Group originally developed the Pizzey Park Master Plan in 2002. The Gold Coast is well known for its healthy active lifestyle, with Pizzey Park playing an important role at local, district and regional levels. Located in a well established residential precinct, Pizzey Park was originally a rubbish tip, historically developed as an open space park and since then, over a period of years, numerous sporting codes have made it their home.

The park supports rugby league, soccer, tennis, athletics, softball, the Miami Aquatic Centre and has one of the better known skate park complexes on the Coast. It also includes an extensive network of walking and cycling pathways that provide access to the large variety of landscapes including lakes and a pine forest. The Master Plan was created to assist in long term planning and management, structure for future development and surety for the diverse range and wide number of users.
