Sunshine Cove comprises of 11 master planned precincts of residential, commercial, retail and community space. The 35 hectares of lake and public open space includes significant linear lakeside parklands that support a network of recreational and cycle paths, boardwalks and bridges.
Place Design Group were appointed as the project landscape architects in 2007. To facilitate construction within very limited space the team devised a strategy to stage streetscape planting and street protection measures. The innovative landscape design integrates water cleansing bio-retention pods within the street reserves and parklands and maximises associated tree and shrub planting. Very large storm management swales are integrated into the landscape character of open space parks providing spatial and vegetative buffering between residential precincts and high traffic flow streets. Place Design Group continues to provide ongoing design and project management for the numerous parklands and streetscapes throughout the development.
