The One Skyvilla

The One Skyvilla is located at the centre of Hexi CBD in Nanjing. The design of the display area entrance emphasises the concept of “seclusion”, creating a quiet space through a simple yet detailed feature wall, as well as a mirror water feature with a crape myrtle tree. Internally the sunken courtyard is the centrepiece of the display area and is encircled by clear glass walls. Two individual VIP rooms project out beyond the line of the architectural edge to further add to the spatial complexity of the courtyard. The centralised rotating sculpture made of stainless steel appears to “float” on the large mirror water feature which matches the project concept of “The One”, water and art integrated together. The curved staircase in the corner of the courtyard provides both pedestrian passage and EVA function, while its combination with a mature Chinese tallow tree creates a dialogue between the artificial and the natural, the horizontal and the vertical.
