Halcyon Waters is an award winning over 50’s village located in a coastal landscape setting adjacent to a large area of untouched and protected natural habitat at Hope Island on the Gold Coast.

Great care has been taken to integrate the development into its environment and capitalise on its natural assets.
Place Design Group was commissioned to deliver the landscape design for this over 50’s living project.
While the development may consist of small lot housing, the sense of space and openness prevails through careful spatial planning and composition of the landscape elements.
The site breaks into a number of landscape precincts developed to have its own character including signature street trees. To improve the quality of internal roads, the concept of ‘garden streets’ was developed with increased planting within the communal spaces.
Halcyon Waters was awarded the 2009 Urban Development Institute of Australia (QLD) Award for Excellence in Seniors Living and award for Affordable Housing. The development also was awarded the 2009 Urban Development Institute of Australia National Award for Excellence in Seniors Living.
