Oasis Oonoonba

The Oasis Townsville is a one-stop shop facility for veterans and their families to access assistance from government, health services, ex-service organisations (ESOs), and community groups. It provides an extensive range of services for veterans and their families.

Place Design Group was commissioned to provide landscape design services to help create a relaxed and welcoming environment for veterans and their families. The design focused on creating sustainable landscape spaces that encourage a range of formal and informal uses and activities.

We also provided visual design services to develop a wayfinding strategy and environmental graphics for the new buildings and facilities. The signage concept designs referenced the existing branding to enhance the built form treatment through organic circular patterning. The overall aesthetic was a pared back, industrial feel with the use of materials, colours, textures, and typography.
