The project is being undertaken in response to the growing demand for well-located housing within existing urban centres, particularly Hobart, which are currently experiencing very high demand for housing, and identified challenges in the delivery of housing in both the volumes, prices and locations sought after  by the market and needed by the community and industry to do so in a viable manner.

Place Design Group has undertaken a comprehensive assessment and review into the provision of infill housing throughout the state, with a view to better understanding the potential economic and social benefits that result from a greater focus on, and requirement for, infill housing development in the current environment, but also to better understand the current barriers and obstacles to the delivery of infill housing within the Tasmanian market.
