LCM

In an area developed primarily with residential towers, the client’s vision was to create open spaces that connect the existing urban fabric, providing workers, visitors and locals with an activated, evolving experience. We were engaged to provide a highly functional and aesthetic landscape design, achieved through consistent design language, distinguished yet seamless area division and wayfinding, and succinct planting design.

The project includes an integrated public parkland, a one-stop shopping mall and four Grade A office buildings. The landscape spaces are themed around the idea of a ‘Dream Avenue’ to seamlessly connect all parts of the precinct, guiding people from the nearby metro station to the commercial area.

In the day time, the tall logo tower, bright logo sculptures and water features set at each of the five entry points provide wayfinding for drivers or pedestrians entering the precinct.

At night, the engaging lighting design throughout considers the functions and users of each part, adding to the overall charm and visitor experience of the precinct.

Artistic Park

An LCM logo sculpture welcomes people exiting from the metro station, with the ‘Rainbow Skyway Bridge’ leading them across the canal and through the parkland. Open lawn spaces with themed artworks connect via stepped seating walls, paths to paved urban plazas and sheltered pavilions. The plazas provide access to the historical museum set within a traditional building, ‘Li House’, that has been on the site since 1935, further adding to the significance of the park.

Retail

The colourful terrazzo embedded in the pavement throughout the precinct reflects LCM’s logo design. Activity areas of varying scales for marketing promotions are arranged throughout the shopping mall, with large screens and digitally controlled water falls for space activation. Abundant external dining spaces have also been provided to ensure an active streetscape, while artworks create interactive opportunities. The plantings define the commercial area without affecting visibility of commercial signage.

Commercial Offices 

Simple but dynamic water features in front of the office buildings create a sophisticated entry experience. The planting in the space between office buildings extends views internally and enhances the sense of an urban plaza.
