AUSTRALIAN GROWTH DRIVING NEW ERA

As the growth of Australian continues and the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics position South-East Queensland on the world stage, Place Design Group is set to ensure our cities and regions capitalise on the transformational opportunities ahead.

Reinforcing their Australian expertise and leadership in creating great place outcomes, Place Design Group has continued to evolve over the last 23 years.  As part of the new strategic plan, the organisation has grown by 66% in the last year, with teams working throughout Australia, Asia Pacific, China, and the Middle East.  Committed to a true multidiscipline approach, integrating Strategic Planning, Development Services, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Stakeholder Engagement, and Communications, the organisation is focused on delivering projects that contribute to their economic, social, and environmental evolution.

Guiding the design and planning vision across the organisation is the ten strong senior leadership team of Executive Chair, Shaun Munday, CEO Beth Toon, and Directors, Andrew Comer, James Birrell, Clint Wood, Shaun Egan, Nick Ison, Angus Green, Amanda Taylor, and Emma Vidot.  Key to the team’s success is their active role in the leadership and delivery of transformational projects, including those such as Waterfront Brisbane, Brisbane’s Inner-City Strategy, Aura Baringa, Mooloolaba Foreshore, Maroochydore City Centre, Sydney Pippita Rail Trail, Gunyama Park Sydney, Marriott Fiji, Huawei Qingpu, Blacktown Transformational Program, Versace Hotel Dubai, YAS Island Yacht Club, and Sir Bani Yas Island UAE.

To support the delivery of the organisational strategy, Place Design Group has appointed new Executive roles, National Executive Director for Landscape Architecture Nick Ison, National Executive Director for Planning and Specialist Disciplines, Amanda Taylor, and International Executive Director, Clint Wood.  These roles will oversee project and team performance to continue to drive growth across the organisation.

Beth Toon, Chief Executive Officer says, “the knowledge and expertise we hold across our senior leadership team and executive is some of the best in the industry.  We are all driven by our passion to deliver client excellence and community outcomes.  To support this, we now have grown to a team of 50 landscape architects within South-East Queensland and 75 nationally.

It is definitely an exciting time in our organisation’s journey.  With our unwavering commitment to being locally led has meant we have had the opportunity to participate in some of the most significant city and region shaping projects.  This approach has also provided us with the opportunity to partner with exceptional organisations nationally and internationally to continue to build our reach and expertise.  We are entering a new era for the organisation, where our teams are pushing new boundaries across design and planning, driving innovation and creativity throughout our work, and achieving great place outcomes.”
