Recognised as an iconic gateway to the Whitsundays, the Airlie Beach Main Street revitalisation project required a high quality, coastal themed urban design response.

Place Design Group was commissioned to carry out the full range of landscape architecture services from initial concept design through to advisory during the construction phase.

Significant changes were achieved including an improved pedestrian experience. The diversion of heavy vehicles around the main street has allowed the revitalisation project to better respond to community needs, and has become an urban space that has lifted viability and opportunity for local businesses.
