Caddens Hill – Eastern Hilltop Park

While this park is not a large park it does offer the occupant with a varied range of experiences. The park has been designed to provide users with opportunities for social/physical activity, children’s adventure play and heritage interpretation, all while maximising the district views. Located in the centre of a larger development the park is seen as a public asset that can be easily accessed and enjoyed by all

Place Design Group was sought out by Legacy Property to provide full landscape design services for this seminal green field development in Caddens, western Sydney. Working closely with the team of Civil Engineers from JWP (J Wyndham Prince) ensured grading to perimeter of the park was well integrated with the surrounding streetscape.

The Eastern Hilltop Park is located along a ridge line to the east of Landcom’s Caddens development and sits within Stage 4 of Legacy Property’s Caddens Hill development. The park is a focus of the development and is an area for both active and adventure play along with passive recreation. Located on an elevated position the park boasts spectacular views to the Blue Mountains to the west and district views to the east and south.

The Eastern Hilltop Park reflects not only as an area for play and recreation, but also pays homage to the heritage house that once occupied the site. This is achieved via materiality in the landscape (recycled brick pavers) and landmark plantings.
