Through the dedication and continuity of our design representative throughout the life of the project for over 12 years, we have developed a strong client-consultant relationship with Urbex. This has also enabled the landscape theme and level of presentation to remain consistent throughout the project
| Place Design Group have been the Consulting Landscape Architects for Urbex’ Kalynda Chase development in Townsville since its inception in 2006. The project now in its 12th year of development is home to over 3,000 residents.
Landscape Architecture Services included the preparation of a Landscape and Open Space Master Plan as part of the original Material Change of Use application for the project; as well as design, documentation, and project management of landscape works associated with every stage of development. The same process has been applied across all areas of open space which makes up 20% of the total project area. With a strong focus on maximising legibility, functionality, and the appropriate use of both native and exotic plant species, the project has an attractive and highly useable landscape setting with an easily recognisable ‘sense of place’. This has been further reinforced through the creation of custom designed shade structures in stages 1 & 2, bollards and other key character elements throughout the project. |
