Hurstville City Centre
Sydney, NSW, Australia
Delivering a benchmark master planned community that capitalises the site’s natural environment and heritage.
Covering approximately 500 ha, the Menangle Park development is a new residential suburb located south west of Sydney’s CBD. Working with our client Dahua Group Australia, Place Design Group are leading the landscape design for approximately 140 ha of public open space within the site, covering riparian land, parks and play spaces, streetscapes, playing fields and areas of ecological value.
Covering detailed landscape character initiatives, open space recreation, street tree planting and active transport connections, the Menangle Park Open Space and Landscape Strategy capitalises on the site’s natural assets to provide inviting and memorable places for residents and visitors of the future.
A significant feature of the landscape framework is the ‘green spine’ – a 1.25ha linear park that runs north- south through the development. The green spine offers a variety of fine-grain social spaces that will deliver social interaction and engagement, provide passive surveillance and connect pedestrians and cyclists directly to over 80% of the extensive open space network.
