Faced with the challenge of declining golf participation levels, aging infrastructure and escalating operational costs, Parkwood International Golf Course like many other clubs were looking for ways to diversify in order to ensure long term financial sustainability.

Place Design Group were engaged to manage and deliver the development approvals for a new retirement village, mixed use commercial buildings, a childcare centre and resort hotel. The development will provide immediate and ongoing revenue to ensure the long- term sustainability of the golf club, whilst ensuring that the site remains as one integrated development.

Successfully approved through Council in April 2019, the team demonstrated that there were relevant matters to justify the developments despite non-compliances with the Planning Scheme. Place Design Group was re-appointed to advise on the club house renovation and a future stage of retirement living.
