The Railyards Parkland project was the first step in the Toowoomba Regional Council’s investigation into the feasibility of future development of an underutilised site on the edge of the city centre.

Place Design Group’s design concept investigated the theme of a postindustrial landscape and the retention and reuse of rail relics and buildings within it to weave a stronger story.

The parkland concept investigated the needs of the community and the current offerings of the surrounding parkland to provide a brief which focussed on community and art parklands.
