Considered, cost effective and aesthetically pleasing design solutions delivered a world-class training facility enhancing Sydney Olympic Park’s elite sport offering
Located in the Sports & Education precinct within the Sydney Olympic Park Town Centre, the elite training sports field provides a fully integrated and world-class training venue for multiple elite, representative and referee development programs for the NSW Rugby League, adding capacity to the park’s existing world-class sporting facilities and venues. The facility is also to be integrated with a future adjoining building development of the NSW Rugby Leagues ‘Centre of Excellence’.
Place Design Group were engaged to provide landscape architectural services that considered the impacts on existing circulation, accessibility, key visual relationships, emergency services access to the adjoining aquatic and athletic venues, and complex operating environments within a major event precinct with multiple stakeholders.
Through close collaboration with Delany Civil, Place Design Group delivered a design outcome that has resulted in an elite facility that meets the functional aspects of everyday and ‘major-event’ mode operations.
