The Junction Park

Commissioned by Stockland Development, Place Design Group designed and documented The Junction Park at its North Shore estate in Townsville. A 6ha district sports park will soon feature up to 3 full size rugby/ football fields, multi-use sports court, bike pump track and a 2,000sqm dog park. The park is located along the North Shore Greenspine, where all major path networks lead to The Junction.

The playground area, now completed, features shelters, picnic settings, and public barbeque, drinking fountains with dog bowls, feature seating elements, a jumping pillow, plenty of shaded seatings, and an impressive array of play equipment for children of all ages, that includes a ‘Giant Twin Tower’ by Kompan – the first of its kind to be delivered in Australia.

The design intent was to deliver a destination park that the community would be proud of; a park where children want to come to play and stay all day.
