An Associate Urban Designer, Nani brings over ten years experience across the fields of Architecture and Urban Design to the Urban Design team at Place Design Group. Nani’s broad skill set has further strengthened the Urban Design team’s offering, with the ability to produce a variety of outputs including conventional plan documentation, 3D modelling and visualisation, and graphic communication.

During and post-university studies, Nani has been fortunate to broaden her skills, across various mediums and software, during her opportunities to contribute to teams and projects across a number of international Architectural practices and consultancies. In addition to attaining her initial Bachelor of Design and Master of Architecture, Nani decided to up skill further, having also completed a Bachelor of Urban Development, majoring in Urban and Regional Planning.

Nani’s ultimate goal is to not only ensure that the Urban Design team is producing outputs at a high standard and is exceeding expectations, but that there is always a strong sense of cohesion and that positive morale and support are shared across the team.

She has a proven track record working in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, as well as internationally, collaborating with major developers, government departments, councils, and health providers. Naomi’s expertise spans various sectors, including development, urban regeneration, health, education, retail, commercial, industrial, visual assessment, masterplanning, recreational planning, and environmental impact mitigation.

With a strong skill set in leadership, staff mentoring, client management, and consultant coordination, Naomi has successfully managed projects from start to finish. She excels in financial management, staff resourcing, and contractor engagement, ensuring the smooth progress of every endeavor.

Sophie has been with Place Design Group since 2010. Her experience is broad spanning commercial, public space and with a particular focus on detailed residential community design. Sophie is intimately involved in projects from concept to detailed design and works closely with our teams in both Australia and China to ensure quality outcomes.

Sophie relocated to our Brisbane office in 2017 and contributes to projects in China and Australia. Living in Australia has allowed Sophie to further her interests in how people interact between the built environment and nature by combining elements of Western design thinking with her deep understanding of the best of Chinese design.

She is knowledgeable in horticulture specific for South East Queensland and has experience in documenting various project types including public realm, education, water sensitive urban design, commercial and residential communities. Tho has a flare with digital and traditional visualisations which has contributed to her extensive skills and knowledge for both 2D and 3D programs. Tony has worked on a broad range of project types and scales, from multi-stage urban development sites to public parks and private residential projects. He has worked in multidisciplinary practices for 15 years and has a good working relationship with these sister professions of urban design and architecture and appreciates the necessity of coordination and collaboration through the design process. From his experience with carpentry, furniture making and property maintenance, Tony has a strong understanding of construction processes which assists in design documentation, detailing and specification compilation. Tony’s significant experience resolving on site issues and developing good relationships and communication with project contractors has refined his ability to produce high quality landscape construction documentation packages.
