Shirelle is an emerging landscape architect, who throughout her studies, excelled in design communication and landscape theory thinking. While her experience working on a Native Flower Cut Farm has laid a strong foundation for plant knowledge and understanding. With a strong passion in ecology and biodiversity, she is dedicated to nurturing the reciprocity between people and their environment. Since achieving her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (1st Class Honours), Shirelle has thrown herself into the industry, having gained meaningful experience working on projects of a range of scales from residential, multi-residential, commercial to educational developments based in the Central Coast, NSW. Shirelle’s approach to design is altruistic, innovative and wholistic.
Sophie has been with Place Design Group since 2010. Her experience is broad spanning commercial, public space and with a particular focus on detailed residential community design. Sophie is intimately involved in projects from concept to detailed design and works closely with our teams in both Australia and China to ensure quality outcomes.
Sophie relocated to our Brisbane office in 2017 and contributes to projects in China and Australia. Living in Australia has allowed Sophie to further her interests in how people interact between the built environment and nature by combining elements of Western design thinking with her deep understanding of the best of Chinese design.
Stacie is a highly skilled designer, boasting a versatile repertoire ranging from graphic design and illustration to the nuanced realms of public art management, conservation, wayfinding, and signage design. With over 12 years of dedicated experience, Stacie stands as a seasoned professional at the intersection of design, public art, and placemaking.
Her dynamic career is a testament to both her creative passion and project management skills and experience. Stacie has successfully overseen projects at every stage, demonstrating a keen ability to navigate from initial concepts through to project completion. Beyond her design expertise, Stacie is deeply committed to infusing cultural vibrancy into the public realm, where her multifaceted experience shines.
Stacie’s dedication to collaboration has been pivotal in delivering numerous noteworthy built environment projects. She has been a driving force behind the success of these endeavours, collaborating with high-profile, established, and emerging artists and designers to create impactful and culturally resonant spaces. Stacie’s unique blend of skills positions her as an invaluable asset in shaping the evolving landscape of the public realm.
Steve is an experienced Senior Landscape Architect with a strong background in design and documentation across a wide range of projects, including public open spaces, education facilities, commercial developments, institutional buildings, aged care facilities, and master planning. With a genuine passion for both the built environment and providing natural environments and play spaces for young children, Steve brings a unique blend of creativity and practicality to his work.
Steve is well-versed in BIM/LIM Coordination, CAD documentation, and 3D illustration/rendering, utilising various software packages to effectively communicate design concepts and bring them to life. This proficiency enables him to deliver visually compelling presentations to clients and ensures seamless project coordination. His dedication to delivering exceptional results is evident in his commitment to achieving
the highest standards of quality and innovation. Stephen thrives in collaborative environments, leveraging his creative design expertise and knowledge to exceed client expectations.
Sze Wan completed her Bachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture (Honours) at UNSW in 2021. She is a highly skilled designer with two years of local experience delivering a diverse portfolio of design projects across Australia. Project experience includes industrial, commercial and residential development. Sze Wan has been involved in all phases of a project from concept design to implementation. She believes that every single project is a unique opportunity to redefine and enhance the urban environment. She is passionate about and always focused on the relationship between the community and landscape design, wanting to provide a sustainable landscape for all people to be able to use.
Tho is a Landscape Architect who is passionate about regenerating the urban matrix with green useable spaces. Tho’s background and interest in visual arts and environmental issues plays a significant role in her conceptual approach to her design and analysis. She is knowledgeable in horticulture specific for South East Queensland and has experience in documenting various project types including public realm, education, water sensitive urban design, commercial and residential communities. Tho has a flare with digital and traditional visualisations which has contributed to her extensive skills and knowledge for both 2D and 3D programs. This allows her to communicate a variety of ideas across those platforms effectively.
Tony has worked on a broad range of project types and scales, from multi-stage urban development sites to public parks and private residential projects. He has worked in multidisciplinary practices for 15 years and has a good working relationship with these sister professions of urban design and architecture and appreciates the necessity of coordination and collaboration through the design process. From his experience with carpentry, furniture making and property maintenance, Tony has a strong understanding of construction processes which assists in design documentation, detailing and specification compilation. Tony’s significant experience resolving on site issues and developing good relationships and communication with project contractors has refined his ability to produce high quality landscape construction documentation packages.
Valentina has worked in the landscape architectural profession for over three years on a variety of projects in Queensland as well as overseas. She brings an international understanding to the team and approaches every project with a creative and multidisciplinary view point.
Valentina has a passion for adaptive reuse, sustainable design and permaculture. Having a background as an architect, with a big passion for heritage architecture and history, has helped her to develope an even bigger sense of respect for the world. Valentina’s creative inspirations carry over into landscape designs, weaving and blending concepts into beautiful outcomes. She intrinsically develops palettes that synthesize natural process from multiple environments to produce layered textured, and scalable landscape designs.
Zinate is a Senior Landscape Architect with over ten years of local and international experience. Her roles have provided her with a range of experience as lead consultant in all stages of design within the private and public sector. Working in the United Kingdom and Holland provided her with the opportunity to gain experience in the design and project management of major public realms, cycle infrastructure projects, Hostile Vehicle Mitigation, large mixed-use developments, Master Planning, Strategic Street Design and School Infrastructure projects.
This is a role for a full time local experienced Town Planner, who will be responsible for the development of client relationships and project management, delivering on time and on budget to achieve successful, people-driven outcomes.
